These Cigars are a Half corona size, the wrappers on these Cohiba cigars have all experienced a 5 year ageing process. Cohiba is the jewel in the crown of the Habanos cigar collection. What began as Castro’s own personal cigar blend was eventually given out to world leaders and diplomats who visited the Caribbean island in 1962. Fidel first tasted these cigars after a body guard gave the communist one of his cigars, which was grown and rolled by a friend. Castro fell in love with them and invited the farmer/roller to come and produce cigars for him and other members of the communist party.
What gives Cohiba its thick and creamy texture is the extra third level of fermentation, which is carried out in wooden barrels. Only Cohiba cigars are given this third fermentation and this has helped the brand be a firm favourite with aficionados around the world.
