The cigars measure 7 1/2" x 38 and are presented in SBN boxes of 24. Each cigar is finished with a signature pigtail, synonymous with the Laguito No.1 Vitola and all have been rolled in the world famous El Laguito factory in Havana, the spiritual home for this iconic size. The size was created by Eduardo Rivera and the first to be offered to President Fidel Castro in 1963, almost two decades before it was commercially launched and made available as the Cohiba Lanceros in 1982. Today the most qualified and skilled technicians for this challenging size remain at the factory and for this reason the Cuban Cigar industry decided to locate all of the La Reina production at the prestigious El Laguito factory. We believe this is the first for any Habanos regional edition.
In 1882 the Antonio Allones factory, which had been making Havanas for over 30 years, decided to launch a new brand of premium quality and price. With great confidence but little modesty it was named ‘El Rey del Mundo’ – The King of the World. It proved a winner.
This success lives on to this day in a selected range of Havanas renowned for its light to medium flavour and consistency.
All sizes contain a blend of filler and binder tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo zone and are made by the ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano’ – long filler, totally handmade technique.
