The long oval shank gives the Canadian its distinguishing shape. Highly favoured among Virginia smokers, along with the Liverpool variation. The longer shank allows for a little cooling of the tobacco and allows the smoker to sup slowly. The John Brumfit pipes are made in Italy for Gawith Hoggarth. These low/mid range pipes are made at the briars source in Italy the western world’s largest producer of Briar pipes. The “Great British Classics” are a collection of traditional shapes, in a matte walnut brown finish. Unlike many other Italian pipes, these are made without filters and using Acrylic/Lucite, just good old fashioned Vulcanite.
