When the Oliva Family first released the Serie V blend of cigars in 2006 it was an instant hit with aficionados. The Serie V combined all the power you would expect from Nicaraguan Ligero tobacco, but remaining smooth and easy to smoke. The Serie V line has won numerous awards around the world and very high ratings. Then in 2014 to honour Melanio, the founding father of Oliva the “Serie V Melanio” limited edition was released.
Built on the same solid footings found in the classic, V Series this limited edition cigar draws on the power of the Ligero and still remains smooth and creamy. Where it differs however is with the use of aged filler tobaccos and using an Ecuadorian grown Sumatran wrapper.
As we mentioned the cigar is powerful is packed with a core flavour of earth and woods with growing hints of spice, coffee and dark chocolate. The cigars are hand rolled to highest standard and smoke exceptionally well from match to ash. In 2014 the Melanio Figurado was awarded cigar of year by Cigar Aficionado, while the size is a little different the tobacco blends the same.
