Gawith Hoggarths twist tobaccos are the jewel in thisLakelandproducer’s crown. The rope is hand spun from variousVirginiafillers and stunning top grade (Virginia) wrapper leaf. This method of tobacco production has been common since the early days of conial rule in theAmericas. To transport tobacco back on the long sea voyages, the tobacco was spun into a rope as it holds the moisture better than loose leaf.
The use of dark fired Virigina and Indian tobaccos result in a powerful, rich and earthy smoke. Not an overly complex or sophisticated smoke by any means, just honest, natural tobacco. When in its original twist form, this tobacco needs slicing and rubbing prior to smoking. As this is sliced at the Kendal factory, it can just be lightly rubbed before smoking.
