JF Germains do not make many aromatics, but when they do they really go to town. JF Germains Plum Cake has been a staple on UK tobacconist shelves for generations and has an almost cult following. Whats begins as mixture of 6 different Virginias is finished off with a unique dark fired, Cavendish style tobacco. The fine shag cut mixture is then flavoured with a traditional blend of natural extracts, giving a slight black current aroma with a hint of liquorice and plum.
Due to its cut this tobacco burns pretty freely and thanks to the high Virginia count is fairly mild going. The casings come through really well, with a slightly spicy and fruity taste. Smoke pretty cool unless its smoked to fast or packed to loose. One of the more unusual Aromatic blends on the market and a great change of pace from the usual cherry or vanilla aromatics.
