The Aristocratica

This is a highly collectable range from Castello, it takes influence from an exclusive line of Castello pipe that were made from 1968 to 1979. During this period, Carlo Scotti (the workshops founder) produced a number of select pipes for his close friends of the same style.

Castello began to produce pipes on an artisan basis in Cantu immediately after the war. Right from the start his main aim was to create top quality pipes. Thanks to the image that  Castello has created with many years of work and continuous research, the firm is now offered the first choice of their finest batches by briar gatherers. So Castello pipes have a head start when it comes to the manufacturing stage: being able to work only and exclusively with the best briar in existance. If the use of super top briar is one important starting point to obtain out of the ordinary results, as too are the technical expertise  of the craftsman and the use of the most complete and specialised professional equipment all this is still not enough. You need "heart". So it is of fundamental psychological importance to all of us who create them to know that the majority of Castello pipes going out in the world will end up in the hands and mouthes of those who know how to treat them with proper love, who will appreciate them intimately and enjoy the greatest smoking pleasure. All this is only possible for people who know the pipe and the journey which transforms it from a piece of briar into a finished object: a slow journey, and a patient and creative one, guided by expert hands.
