St James Flake has the reputation for being one of the best VaPer blends on the market. This moist flake containing Virginia and Perique, has sweet Virginia flavour of hays with a pepper overtone from the Perique. The tobacco is pressed with a little added sugar, this can often crystallise on the surface. Smokes well from the tin, but if left to get a little air, it will be cooler and little less tangy. Like all Samuel Gawith flakes, this is cut thick and burns slowly. We find the best way to pack this tobacco, is to loosely break up the flake and dont pack to tight. Then with another small amount, rub out very fine to use a primer on the top. Once you have the tobacco lit, gently tamp down, then as it gets a little warmer, tamp a little more. Once you have a layer of ash on the surface, smokes very cool & smooth. 50g tin.
