Habanos World Days London 2024: Trinidad 55th Celebrations

Posted by

Hello, cigar aficionados! I had the incredible privilege of attending the Habanos World Days in London on June 20th, celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Trinidad brand and the exciting release of the Trinidad Cabillidos. This event was historic, being the first of its kind outside of Cuba, drawing cigar enthusiasts and experts from around the globe.

A Glamorous Start

The festivities kicked off with a cocktail party in Belgravia Square, where no expense was spared in true Habanos style. We were treated to plenty of champagne and the evening’s first cigar, the classic Trinidad Fundadores. The highlight of the evening was a warm welcome speech from Jemma Freeman, the renowned Managing Director of Hunters and Frankau. Later, we enjoyed smoking the Trinidad Robusto Extra, a beloved cigar making a much-anticipated return to the Habanos lineup.

Morning Seminars and Expert Talks

The following morning, we gathered again in Belgravia Square for coffee, breakfast, and, of course, cigars. This was followed by an insightful seminar featuring industry experts like Nicolas Foulkes, Kirby Allison, Anna Lopez, and Edward Sahakian of Davidoff. The relaxed yet informative session delved into the rich history and significance of the Trinidad brand, which was once a secret, reserved for diplomatic gifts.

The Grand Gala Dinner

The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly the Gala dinner on Saturday night, held at the iconic Victoria and Albert Museum. We started in the beautiful central gardens with champagne and Trinidad Vigia cigars, mingling with fellow guests. Inside the dining room, our host Colin Cameron led us through a delightful three-course meal.

Following the meal, an auction was held to raise funds for the Cuban healthcare system, featuring unique humidors that fetched impressive prices. After inspiring speeches from Habanos representatives and Jemma Freeman, it was finally time to smoke the new Trinidad Cabillidos. This outstanding Limited Edition cigar was launched on time, a rarity for Habanos, and it was truly a beautiful smoke.

As a special treat, each guest received a goody bag containing a five-pack of the new Trinidad Cabillidos. The entire event was an unforgettable milestone in the world of Cuban cigars.

If you're eager to get your hands on the new Trinidad Cabillidos, please email us at sam@gqtobaccos.com. Due to high demand, we're currently out of stock, but we hope to have more available soon.

Stay smoky, friends, and here’s to more memorable moments with Habanos!

Cheers,

Sam
