If Latakia isn't your thing, then Commonwealth certainly wont be! Weighing in at 50% of the dark, smoky stuff, Commonwealth Mixture certainly is Samuel Gawith version of the L-Bomb (Latakia Bomb). While the mixture might seem a little simple, the smoke is far from that. 50% flue cured Virginia's and 50% Cypriot Latakia. The resulting tobacco is easy burning and very cool and smooth to smoke. While not the strongest Samuel Gawith, it is not really needed as the richness of the Latakia is winning aspect. Even with the whopping amount of Latakia, the dark Virginia's still play a big role in the flavour profile. The smoke is very oaky, with some subtle sweetness that is fitting with the smokiness, a real L-Bomb (Latakia Bomb).
The perfect blend for the smoker who not only likes Latakia, but really loves this Oriental leaf. The powerful flavours are not suggested for those new to Pipe Smoking, Latakia or if regular tobacco are mild aromatics, as this will be too rich.
